SAN JOSE, Calif. – San José State Director of Athletics Jeff Konya has announced a multi-year extension with The Aspire Group (Aspire) through January 2029. The Spartans and Aspire have worked together over the past six years to produce record results. Aspire’s Fan Relationship Management Center (FRMC) staff have made 70,000 outbound calls and driven $1.8M in new ticket revenue and $500K in donations to SJSU Athletics.

“Our strategic partnership with Aspire has led to record-setting attendance at San José State over the last six-plus years,” said Konya. “We had another strong year with home football attendance and reached record numbers in ticket revenue over the course of the last year. Our basketball games continue to improve in attendance, and we look forward to the creativity and group deals that Aspire develops in the near future.”

“We are thrilled to continue the partnership with Jeff Konya, Scott MacDonald, and all of our colleagues at San José State,” said Aspire’s Senior VP of Strategy and Operations Chad Cardinal. “The environment they create is filled with innovation while putting the student-athletes and fans front and center. It has been a win-win since day one.”

Aspire has hired Jeremy Curran as the Director of Sales and Service to lead the continued on-site operations for the Spartans. With over a decade of experience in sales and marketing, Curran returns to the Aspire Group after serving as a Senior Sales Consultant for the San Francisco Giants, where he drove group and premium sales, and the USA Rugby 7’s Collegiate Championships, which were held in Atlanta in May 2022. Before his time with Aspire, Curran served as a Ticket Sales Representative for the Arizona Coyotes in the National Hockey League.

“Jeremy’s attitude, work ethic and direct experience in ticket sales made him a perfect fit for San José State Athletics,” said Deputy Athletics Director Scott MacDonald. “His extensive knowledge of fan engagement and customer experience will serve our fan base well as we look to grow our season ticket base in football and basketball.”

“Welcoming Jeremy back to The Aspire Group is a thrill,” said Cardinal. “He has a proven track record of revenue success which is built on relationships. We are eager to be able to implement next practices while we continue to own the fundamentals.”
