ATLANTA – (May 24, 2011) – The University of Maryland & Aspire announced a partnership to sell a full menu of ticket options for football, men’s/women’s basketball & other Olympic sports. The Aspire Group’s Fan Relationship Management Center (FRMC) will be based on campus, operating out of Capital One Field at Byrd Stadium which provides a centrally located base for The Aspire Group staff to engage with Maryland fans on a daily basis. The operation will consist of a manager and up to twelve ticket sales consultants for the University of Maryland athletics.

“The University of Maryland’s partnership with The Aspire Group is one of many ways we continue to show our commitment to generating athletic revenue, increasing our attendance, and taking better care of our Terrapin fans, ” stated Chris Boyer, Senior Associate Athletics Director. “We are excited to add Aspire’s high level of customer service and expertise in the ticket marketing and sales industry to our overall efforts.”

The University of Maryland is a founding member of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) and represents Aspire’s second partnership school in the conference. The Aspire Group has provided similar services for Georgia Tech for nearly two years. Aspire develops Fan Relationship Management Centers specializing in revenue enhancement for universities and sports organizations worldwide by providing a superb customer experience for fans on ticket sales and service calls.

The University of Maryland FRMC will be managed by Preston Shytle who has been a top performer with The Aspire Group since opening the first FRMC two years ago. During his time with Aspire, Preston led the CU Boulder ticket sales program and was a Team Leader for Georgia Tech.  Prior to joining The Aspire Group, he spent a season with the NBA’s Charlotte Bobcats in Inside Sales.

“The University of Maryland contract award represents a great accomplishment for The Aspire Group and the timing could not be better,” stated Bill Fagan, General Manager of Fan Relationship Management. “Getting on the phones in the early summer months will allow us to capitalize on the peak selling season and assist the Terps in filling the stands for the 2011 football season.”
