ATLANTA, GA – Morgan State University Athletics and The Aspire Group (Aspire) have announced a multi-year partnership in which Aspire will be responsible for all Morgan State’s athletic ticket and sponsorship sales, and increasing donations for the Morgan Bear Club. This is Aspire’s third partnership to include or add sponsorship sales responsibilities and first to do so in college athletics. This is also Aspire’s fifth new partnership in 2021.

“We are delighted to begin our new partnership with Aspire,” said Dr. Edward Scott, Vice President and Director of Athletics for Morgan State. “This partnership aligns with the vision for the future of Morgan Athletics and provides strategic support to build on the unprecedented success of our department, over these past four years.  Aspire’s track record in revenue generation, coupled with their understanding of Morgan’s history and tradition makes them the right partner to manage our ticketing and sponsorship inventory.”

“Leona Marketing Group provided outstanding guidance and counsel as we went through the process of finding the right strategic partnership in the areas of ticketing and sponsorships,” continued Scott. “Dan Gale and Brett Jones utilized a thorough and inclusive approach that enabled us to customize an agreement that best aligned the current and future goals of Morgan Athletics.”

In reference to the partnership, Aspire CEO, Bill Fagan stated, “We are thrilled to partner with Morgan Athletics. This partnership will be rooted in building personal relationships on the ground with Morgan State Bears fans and sponsors. The opportunity to work with Dr. Edward Scott, Lydell Sargeant and their passionate leadership team is energizing. The Morgan Bears have experienced tremendous growth and success in recent years. We look forward to leading the revenue generation efforts for the Bears in the areas of both ticketing and sponsorships.”

The Aspire Group is excited to begin its work with Morgan State, a historically black research university and their second partner within the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC). Aspire also has a long-standing relationship supporting the Honda Battle of the Bands, an annual marching band exhibition showcasing bands from historically black colleges and universities, many of which represent the MEAC. For the January 2020 event, Aspire marketing and sales campaigns drove nearly $500K in revenue for the Honda Battle of the Bands.
