Maryland Renews Ticket Sales Contract With Aspire
March 8, 2019
ATLANTA, GA – The University of Maryland Athletics Department and The Aspire Sport Marketing Group have reached an agreement to extend their outsourced ticket sales and service contract. Since its inception in 2011 the partnership has resulted in over $13.5 million in new ticket revenue.
Aspire’s Fan Relationship Management Center (FRMC) at the University of Maryland has handled new ticket sales and renewals and with the extension will support the Terrapin Club in soliciting philanthropic donations.
The Maryland FRMC is currently ranked third in total new revenue and fifth in total revenue produced across Aspire properties nationwide. In the Maryland FRMC, seven sales consultants were ranked in the top 10 on Aspire’s company-wide 2018 hustle board.
“Since 2011, Aspire has been a great partner for Maryland Athletics,” said Associate AD – Annual Giving/Ticket Operations Matt Monroe. “Their dedication to customer service is top notch and we look forward to continue working with their talented staff to enhance our communication efforts with our fans and to drive incremental revenue for our department.”
“It is our pleasure to continue to serve Maryland Athletics and Terp Nation,” said Chairman & Founder of The Aspire Group Bernie Mullin. “We are fortunate to have true partners at Maryland. Our A Team and FRMC leadership have done a superb job of bringing the “Aspire Difference” to College Park each and every day.”
In 2018 the Maryland FRMC received the annual “Bernie Award” that is given to the top FRMC property based on overall sales performance as well as its relationships within Aspire and the athletic department.
The Maryland FRMC operation is headed by Director, Sales & Service Howard Ticker, who worked his way up to the position after starting at Maryland as a Sales Consultant in 2012. As a whole, the Maryland FRMC has had 21 internal staff promotions, four of which were into leadership positions across Aspire.
“We are very excited to extend our partnership with Maryland Athletics,” said Ticker. “It’s been a great eight years for Aspire on campus in College Park and we look forward to continuously growing our loyal fan base by providing all current and future Terp fans amazing customer service for many years to come!”
