Maryland Athletics and The Aspire Group Celebrate a Decade of Partnership

ATLANTA, Ga. – The University of Maryland Athletics Department and The Aspire Sport Marketing Group (Aspire) recently celebrated the 10th anniversary of their sales and service partnership. Over the last decade, Aspire sales and service consultants have worked alongside Maryland Athletics staff to establish a culture of success highlighted by impressive revenue generation, employee retention and internal promotions, and consistent scope of work expansion.

“We are thrilled to celebrate our 10-year anniversary with Aspire,” said Maryland Athletic Director Damon Evans. “The last decade has been a historic one in terms of ticket and donation revenue and we are thankful to Aspire for their partnership and efforts to amplify Maryland Athletics in so many areas.”

Aspire’s Fan Relationship Management Center (FRMC) at the University of Maryland has been responsible for new and renewed ticket sales across all ticketed sports since 2011, driving more than $19.5M in total ticket and donation revenue. Aspire and Maryland Athletics have renewed their partnership numerous times since 2011, steadily increasing Aspire’s responsibilities to include group sales and service, development of donors to The Terrapin Club, and, soon to be announced, premium and hospitality sales.

“Over the last 10 years, Aspire has been a great partner for Maryland Athletics,” said Associate AD – Annual Giving/Ticket Operations Matt Monroe. “Their consistency and dedication to serving both our internal and external relationships has been a tremendous asset throughout our partnership.  We look forward to continued success and working with their talented staff as we enter our second decade together.”

Maryland and Aspire have worked together to build an outstanding work culture. Aspire’s Raise Your Game training program has provided both Aspire and internal Maryland Athletics staff with a foundation in sports business principles and life skill development. The application of this ongoing training has helped the Maryland FRMC retain its best talent through the years, driving 40 promotions overall and six internal manager hires during the partnership.

Aspire is looking forward to the next decade of creating Terrapin fans for life and celebrating their 8th national championship and beyond with the Terps.
