Partnership includes innovative research into how fantasy players make decisions
Competitive Sports Analysis (CSA), creator of one of the sport industry’s most accurate predictive tools for fantasy football players, selected The Aspire Group to develop its go-to-market strategy and research for its highly analytical fantasy sports tool – ScoutPROTM. Aspire will focus on how ScoutPRO can retain current users and acquire new subscribers while analyzing the long-term strategy of the fantasy sport product. In conjunction with the marketing and sales plan, CSA and Aspire will conduct research exploring the process of how current fantasy sport general managers (GMs) make decisions regarding their teams such as setting lineups and drafting their team. This innovative study will expand current research in the fantasy sport industry that has largely focused on participation elements and spending habits of fantasy users. The research and plan will help CSA provide the analytical tool best suited for fantasy sport GMs needs.
Over the past two years, scoutPRO has become one of the most popular fantasy football tools, beating Sports Illustrated, FOX Sports and NFL.com in accuracy. scoutPRO was recently granted a patent for “methods for predicting performance of sports players based on players offsetting and complementary skills.” By securing this intellectual property, scoutPRO is bolstering its industry position. The software uses both statistical data and subject matter expertise to develop skill ratings – much like a coach does and the methodology looks at a team – not just individual player performance.
“At CSA, we are committed to growing our company to the next level. Our process and algorithms to predict player performance are unique and accurate, and we recognize the importance of protecting our intellectual property,” said Diane Bloodworth, CSA’s founder. “We are very excited to partner with The Aspire Group to define the marketing and sales strategy that will substantially increase our market share. We have the strategy, product and team to be a serious player in the sports analytics industry.”
“We are thrilled about the opportunity to work with Diane and CSA as excitement around fantasy sports has exponentially grown over the past few years. Fantasy sports now has over 35 million participants in North America alone and stands alone as a legitimate business within the sports industry,” said Dr. Bernie Mullin, Chairman and CEO of The Aspire Group. “By communicating with over 1.25 million sport fans each year, Aspire has developed an eight-point philosophy centered around the ability for sport organizations to retain, grow and acquire fans. With CSA’s partnership, we know that we can utilize this philosophy to expand the brand of scoutPRO as an industry thought leader on the behaviors of fantasy sport participants and through the application of the tool to fantasy sport GMs.”
